Thank you for your interest in the Southeast Volusia Humane Society Foster Care Program. Fosters provide a temporary home for a shelter animal who, for whatever reason, needs to be housed outside the shelter. Fostering is a lifesaving program that can be a rewarding experience for both you and your family.
Every animal that goes into a foster home opens up a cage or kennel at the shelter for us to save another animal. Fostering also provides animals with the individualized attention some special-needs animals require that we can’t always give at the shelter. Foster families should be patient, compassionate and caring. Your Foster Coordinator will assist in any questions that may arise during your time fostering. Please complete and submit the Foster Care application today!
Southeast Volusia Humane Society is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Volusia County. We greatly appreciate the volunteer help and donor support that allows us to care for 2,000 animals a year. We can’t do this important work without YOU!
